About Charles John Read Sr

Charles John Read Sr passed away peacefully after a long illness with his family by his side.

Charlie was born in South Amboy, NJ, to John and Gladys Read.

Charlie made Arizona his home for the last 19 years.

He worked alongside his son Charles for Garden State Construction.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys Read, sister Peggy Read Kirby, brother William Read, and his brother Carol Read.

Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doreen Masker Read, son Charles (Tiffany), his grandchildren Charles John III and Damian, his stepdaughter, Shirley Masker Maloney (Ricky), their son Trey, stepson Edison Masker, his partner Marybeth, Angela Masker, Isabella Masker, Emma Masker, brother David Read, brother Dale Read, 3 daughters, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charlie will be remembered for his volunteering at Middletown Elks #2179, love for boating, outdoor sports, camping with his family, his devotion to his wife, the close bond that he had with his son Charles, his hard work and love for his family.

His absence will leave an emptiness that can never be filled but memories he created and love he gave will live on through his family.

He will be deeply missed and loved forever.
