About Mary Ann Messenger

Mary Ann Messenger, 82, of Apache Junction, Arizona passed away on March 4, 2015. She was born in 1932 to Anthony and Mamie Calcaterra in Newburgh, New York then raised in Marion, Ohio.

She was the loving wife of Jerry Lee Messenger for 53 years, he preceded her in death in 2005. She was also the loving mother to 7 children.

She is survived by 3 sons, Martin (AZ), Robert (MI), Brian (CT) and 4 daughters, Debra and Suzanne (AZ), Crystal (IL) and Mary Lou (TN), 1 brother, 2 sisters, 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A Wise Choice Desert View Chapel, 9702 East Apache Trail, Mesa, AZ. Funeral Services will also be held at the A Wise Choice Desert View Chapel on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM followed by burial at City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center St, Mesa, AZ

I have known Mary for over 15 years. I considered her a good friend. She will be sorely missed by me and many others who loved her. I pray that we will all feel the comforting Spirit’s consoling arms enfolding us as we grieve her loss.

Mary left a great legacy with her family. All that was good in her can be seen in people they are and will become. I will truly miss her, but I know she’s in a happy place, with a never ending Chinese buffet.
