Donald Gene Nichols

Donald (Nick) Gene Nichols, born to Thomas and Jeanette Nichols on August 8, 1939, died on January 2, 2016 at his home in Mesa, Arizona.

Nick’s life was full of work, family and traveling in his motor home. He was a hard working (work-a-holic) man and the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather he could be. He spent many years as a crane operator in Seattle, Washington and then as an operator and co-owner of Nick’s Crane Service in Bend, Oregon with his wife, Lu. After moving to Arizona, he owned and operated another crane company.

Nick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lu; his daughter, Carrie (Wally) Swartley; his son, Matthew (Laura) Nichols; his brother Charles (Bill, Chuck) Nichols, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister.
