Sonya McLaughlin

Sonya McLaughlin, born on March 12, 1954, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026. Sonya was a woman of deep reliability and warmth, always arriving early and offering a dependable presence to all who knew her. She possessed a remarkable childlike wonder, approaching life's experiences with fresh eyes and an open heart, no matter how familiar they might have been. Her kindness was a guiding principle, and she consistently extended a helping hand to those in need. Sonya found joy in the sparkle of gems and jewelry, the timeless charm of old movies, and the magical world of Disney.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her sister, Sharon Chafin; her brother, Chuck McLaughlin; her sons, Baron McLaughlin (and his wife Chrissy McLaughlin) and Maurice McLaughlin; her grandchildren, Ian McLaughlin, Eleena McLaughlin, and Elizabeth McLaughlin; and her beloved cat, Xena.

A service to celebrate Sonya's life will be held in Vista in the near future. Further details will be shared as they become available.
