Wayne Jorgenson, 85, of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away peacefully at Banner Gardens on May 27, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born March 20, 1929 in Minot, ND to George and Vera (Middleton) Jorgenson. He was raised on a farm 7 miles east of Bismark.
On April 3, 1959, Wayne married Delores F. Schmidt and they lived in Fargo, ND until 1987 when Wayne retired after 38 years as a truck driver for Midwwest Motor Express. They retired to Beaumont, CA for the next 12 years. He continued working with his son, Brian, part time in the tire business for the next 10 years.
In 1999, he and his wife, Delores, begain traveling for 4 years and then settled in Apache Junction, AZ in 2003.
Wayne never met a stranger, always had a story or joke to share, loved old western movies and was an avid reader. Hopefully they have “all you can eat panckes” in heaven. But his real love was to travel.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his family and friends and fondly remembered by his sons and daughter.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Delores; sons, Kenneth (Patricia), NH, Wade, AZ and Brian (Faye) WY; daughter Becky (Charles) Green OR; grandchildren Erik (Sheena), Erin, Ryan, Chelsey and Brooke Jorgenson, Andrea (Mike) Iaquinto, Sarah, Andrew and Jared Green; great grandchildren Grant and Piper.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerry and granddaughter Kayla.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2014 at Capital Heights Baptist Church in Bismark, ND at 3:00 PM with a reception to follow.
